Circles
Development circles are the basic training place for people who wish to develop their psychic and mediumship skills! The information below is a guide on what is required to safely run a circle!
A circle is made up from a group of like minded people, normally between a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 individuals, who sit together each week, at the same time and in the same place. Commitment is vital, as to your state of mind. When sitting in a circle on a regular basis you will also sit in the same place within the circle on each and every occasion If a person is missing then their chair should be placed in its normal position and left empty.
The room should be darkened and in the centre of the circle should be placed a candle or a red lamp ( always remember your safety if using a candle). A circle leader should be appointed; this person should always be an experienced medium! Also required is a scribe- a person who sits outside the circle to make notes and record important messages/philosophy given by spirit through the circle members.
You always open a circle in prayer, once the circle is opened you NEVER break the circle until after a closing prayer has been said! If you become uncomfortable during a circle you simply stop working and fold over your arms and within your mind tell spirit to step away from you. Remember you are in control of yourself NOT spirit!
The circles Paul Hanrahan is commonly involved in are known as PHYSICAL CIRCLES. This is where the medium is entranced by spirit, and spirit communicates directly through the medium to a questioner. The state of trance may vary depending on location, who is sitting in the circle and other variables. What ever happens in this type of circle when a medium is in trance UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GRAB HOLD OR TOUCH THE MEDIUM, you will cause bruising and other physical pain if you do so!
Remember Paul has over 15 years experience of sitting in circles and is a fully trained Christian Spiritualist Church trained medium, that does not mean he knows all there is to learn, he does not! We never stop learning and each new experience adds to our knowledge. It does mean however that Paul can cope with the unexpected!
To sit in a circle you must be of POSITIVE mind and OPEN to the possibility of spirit. You also need to trust the other people you are sitting in the circle with! Also you need to be MENTALLY and EMOTIONALLY balanced, if you have just suffered the loss of a loved one then you are probably not ready to sit in a circle. Likewise, if you have just broken up from a long term relationship then again sit it out, there will always be a next time!
Lastly, always bring your common sence into the room with you, never attribute to spirit what is obviously something that is /not! Remember it is a fine line between reality and fantasy; we all wish to stay on the line of reality!
Development circles should always be run with an experienced medium in charge!
