Reiki

Reiki is taught in three levels

First Degree Reiki course teaches the basic theories of how to work with Reiki energy. The channel through which Reiki energy passes to the practitioner is said to be widened through an initiation by the teacher, permitting the Reiki energy be strong enough to effect healing. All Students learn hand placement positions on the recipient's body that are thought to be most conducive to the healing process. They also learn about the importance of self-healing, the Reiki Principals, the history of Usui Reiki.

The Second Degree Reiki course is taught over a weekend or a 6-week online course (1 evening a week) you receive and learn several symbols. These including a symbol for mental healing, a symbol for distant healing is taught, enabling students to offer healing for problems like fears, depression, addictions, and the like. All students are instructed on how to direct Reiki energy to a certain point in time, to a specific person or place, or a specific issue. The issue can be something like an individual's particular health problem, or it can be a more abstract or general issue such as world peace. You also learn a power symbol to use for increasing healing energy flows when needed for a chronic problem or a very acute one! This skill allows the Reiki channel to be opened even wider and become stronger in the student.

The Third Degree or Masters Attunement, All students become a Reiki "master" through the third initiation; you will learn how to initiate students and have the option of teaching Reiki courses themselves. All students learn further Reiki symbols in this Masters course as well as the method of attuning others.

It is of course up to individual students how many levels they want to complete. The courses are sequential. A Reiki I student should not practice on other individuals other than themselves, friends and family. At Reiki II student may start when comfortable practicing on others and should join a recognized Reiki organization like International Association of Reiki Professionals IARP. At Reiki III all students on successful completion will be able to attune others.
